Happy 2019
A new year, new beginnings, this is the time of year when many people decide to start a new diet, go back to the gym, so they will be thinner and healthier and by the end of January have stopped and feel guilty for not completing their goals. Why not set a new goal and begin the new year by giving back to your community?
Donate your time to an organization, consider volunteering at a fundraising event. Or, sign up for a walk, go to a bowling fund raiser, bring your friends and family out to join you. You can choose an activity once a month, once a quarter, whatever works best for your schedule. If participating in a walk is not for you, many organizations will have events throughout the year and are looking for volunteers to help with all the behind-the-scenes activities needed to have a successful event. Most non-profit organizations have an area on their website for volunteers to sign up. Not only are you giving back, you will be healthier, maybe loose a few pounds and most of all feel better about yourself for helping children and young adults in our community receive the resources they need.
